Umbra’s watercolor paintings possess a unique quality that sets them apart. While their composition may seem simple at first glance, they exude an air of mystery and tranquility. One of the defining features of his work is the use of fog-like effects, which add an ethereal touch to the landscapes.
The hazy landscapes painted by Umbra are characterized by their muted colors and soft, diffused edges. These elements create a sense of depth and distance, inviting the viewer to delve into a dreamlike world that has the power to transport us to a place of peace and tranquility, offering respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Throughout his artistic journey, Umbra has been recognized for his talent and dedication. He has received two awards for his watercolor work and has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, both in his home country and abroad.
However, despite his success and recognition, Umbra remains loyal to his hometown of Novi Sad. His deep connection to his family, friends, and the natural surroundings of the Danube River and the plain is evident in his work. Through his watercolor paintings, he not only captures the essence of these landscapes but also invites us to appreciate the beauty and tranquility they offer.
Branislav Marković Umbra’s misty watercolors are much more than mere depictions of landscapes. They are windows into a realm of peace and serenity, where the boundaries between reality and imagination blur. His deliberate choice of composition and mastery of watercolor techniques create a captivating experience for viewers, leaving them with a sense of wonder and awe.
