Branislav Marković Umbra is a Serbian artist known for his captivating watercolor landscapes. Born in Sabac in 1955, he discovered his passion for painting while studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, under the guidance of Professor Milivoje Unkovic. Throughout his career, he has explored various art forms, including comic books, drawing, applied illustration, and design. However, his love for watercolor emerged as a dominant force, which he has nurtured to this day.

Umbra’s watercolor paintings possess a unique quality that sets them apart. While their composition may seem simple at first glance, they exude an air of mystery and tranquility. One of the defining features of his work is the use of fog-like effects, which add an ethereal touch to the landscapes.

The hazy landscapes painted by Umbra are characterized by their muted colors and soft, diffused edges.
